At times when you’re staring at an Excel spreadsheet for a while it is nice to have certain rows stand out based on certain conditions. A little Excel feature I use every now and then is the conditional formatting found in menu item Format > Conditional Formatting…

If you would just like to highlight a cell, use the “Cell value is” condition and edit the formatting background. If you would like to highlight the entire row, use the “Formula is” condition with the =INDIRECT() function.

For example, if you would like to highlight all rows where cell C of a row has a value less than 0, use =INDIRECT(“C”&ROW())<0

I find it difficult to believe that companies in Panama are still using their internet service providers email addresses as their email solution. Email addresses like, company@cwpanama.net or company@gmail.com are perfectly normal to find here. At these companies, one lucky person has access to all inbound company email or, multiple people access the same account. I’m sure you see the problem with this. If you know of a company guilty of this, show them the light and get a Google App account configured. Not only can you create as many users as you want, you can create mailing lists like sales@company.com which is routed to multiple recipients.
